Just love the internet? What did we ever do without it? You can post useless information like this blog, email friends and family, and search for almost anything and find it on here. Some people find the love of their life on this crazy machine. Or are they just crazy? Anyways, you can look up medical things, recipes, old friends, go shopping anytime of the day or night and do all your banking needs online as well.

Of course the only reason I'm writing this is because I just found a party favor that I really wanted to get for Lacey's birthday party this year. It's cute, everyone loves them and no, I'm not telling anyone. The theme is Mickey Mouse and I just had to find the perfect thing to use as a favor. And, thanks to amazon.com, I found it :)

my front porch

Have you ever heard that country song from Lonestar about looking in from the front porch? I don't remember exactly how it goes but it came to mind tonight as I pulled into the driveway. As I opened my car door, I looked down at my house and could see my family through the kitchen window. Adam was carefully combing Lacey's wet hair and I could see the puppies running through the house. I am so lucky to come home at night to a sweet (but ornery!) husband and a fun little toddler that is still running wild until 11pm. I really felt blessed as I watched them through the window for just a minute.

I had a crazy blog idea tonite coming home from work but this thought seemed better to share. I hope my little heart always gets excited and anxious as I pull into the driveway and see my family in our home :)

the "P" word

politics, politics, politics. Even if you want to avoid the topic, you really can't. Election year will be over before you know it though.

I've decided that I want George W. to stay in office. But since that isn't likely, I'm beginning my campaign for someone else. I'd like to announce that I'm endorsing Laura Bush for the next President of the United States. Why not? I think June Cleaver (Mrs. Bush) would make a wonderful leader of this country. She is a strong opposite of her fellow female running mate. I think she could take her, hands down.

So, feel free to pass along my endorsement. We began with 738 people running for the powerful position and we are now dwindling down to the final few. So we need to get organized and promote this great idea. What do you think??

a day late

In January 1956 civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr could not sleep due to the tense circumstances at this time. So he prayed, "I am here taking a stand for what I believe is right. I am at the end of my powers.....I can't face it alone." Dr. King later wrote, "At that moment I experienced the presence of the Divine as I never experienced Him before. It seemed as though I could hear the quiet assurance of an inner voice saying, 'Stand up for righteousness, stand up for truth; and God will be at your side forever.' Almost at once my fears began to go. I was ready to face anything." The rest is history.

If we face opposition when we're trying to do what's right, we too must cry out to the Lord. He is our reliable source of strength and protection.

When we trust the power of God, we experience peace, not panic.

My Little Gymnast

Amazing

It's been a long week. Most of you know that my Dad had heart surgery this week. Thank you for thinking about us and praying for him. The medical technology is just amazing. He is already feeling much better than before the surgery. God's peace is even more amazing though. Even though we may be sad, irritated, worried or tired, we still have the peace that only comes from the Lord. We knew that everything would be fine and had peace about the situation. As we look back, God has given us this same peace during some very stressful and hard times in our life. He is always faithful. We will all head back to the hospital next week for one more surgery and then Dad will be good as new again!

God is good.

little cuties

There's just something so sweet, innocent and special about watching little girls in their little leotards trying to do cartwheels, rolls (we call them flip-flops!), and dancing together. I was so proud of my new little gymnast :) Tonite at Target I found her a beautiful light blue leotard with a little skirt and watched her with excitement tonight as she tried it on and smiled. She happily did twirls and ran to show Daddy.

I've decided that if I had a little more coordination, talent and stronger knees, I could join her class each week. Instead of hanging out with the other moms, I could do cartwheels and walk on the balance beam too. Don't laugh, I actually was in gymnastics for awhile when I was younger. And now, my hubby calls me "Grace" due to my unsteady disposition. So for now, I will continue to "participate" in her class until she will stay all by herself. It will be a sad day when I'm no longer invited to her class!

I just remembered this great routine that me and my neighbor friend created when we were little. We had her boom box and it repeatedly blared the song "The eye of the Tiger". We had this awesome routine of cheers and gymnastics to this particular song. We entertained hundreds of fans as they drove down the road by her house. We were so cool.

Maybe I can teach this to Punky. On second thought, mabye I'll just continue to pay the nice instructor to do her job!
