music

Do you remember CD's?? I don't think many people buy CD's anymore since we can just download specific songs that we want. I have a nice long list right now just waiting for Adam to download for me since I'm sorta challenged in that area! While I'm waiting for my new tunes.....I bought a couple new discs this evening. There was like 2 other people in the aisle- that's all!

I got the new Mercy Me "10" CD. It's so cool because it has top songs, bonus songs, a concert DVD and also a Live CD. All for like 12 bucks. I also got a great deal on Francesca Battistelli- My Paper Heart. It's really strange because I really didn't like her at first. But then her style started growing on me and now I just love it! I'm anxious to hear all her songs.

My favorite song, or at least one of my favorites, from Mercy Me is Bring the Rain. Check out the lyrics:

I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that
I've gone through
The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You

Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It's never really ever crossed my mind
To turn my back on you, oh Lord
My only shelter from the storm
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray

Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings
You glory And I know there'll
be days When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to
praise You Jesus, bring the rain

I am yours regardless of the clouds that may
loom above because you are much greater than
my pain you who made a way for me suffering
your destiny so tell me whats a little rain

[1st Chorus]

Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
is the lord God almighty
is the lord God almighty
I'm forever singing

[2nd Chorus 2x]

everybody singing
Holy holy holy
you are holy
you are holy

[2nd Chorus 2x]

the smell

You know how a song or certain sounds can take you right back to a special time or specific place in your mind? What about a smell? Sounds strange huh? but it's true.

After work today I stopped at Pizza Hut to get a delicious, healthy dinner for my family. At least it was delicious. As I opened the door, the smell just about knocked me over! That specific "pizza hut" smell took me back to the year 1992. I was a young 18 yr old girl, shy and very thin. I remember my waitress job like it was yesterday. It was actually hard work, but good exercise! Some customers were really nice and then there were the other group of customers. Some people thought I was just a lowly servant that owed them the world. Don't you hate people like that? It's even worse if you are out in public at dinner with those type of people- being like that to the waiters. If you have been a waiter or waitress, you know to treat them nicely now!

Anyways.... I remember my nice boss and friendly co-workers. I remember being too young to serve alcoholic beverages to my tables. I had to ask the customers to be patient while I found someone over legal age to serve their drinks. How embarassing?!! Especially if it was a group of college kids! I remember leaving work one day and finding a sweet love note and flower on my car windshield from my boyfriend (aka: now hubby)! I just graduated high school and would soon be married!

As weird as it is.....that smell brought back some great memories!

Have you read that book called Waiter Rant by Anthony Bourdain? Check it out sometime.

speedboat

Check out this website: www.searocket.com

This was probably the highlight of our vacation...something new and exciting!

The boat cruised out of the bay and we almost immediately saw dolphins playing, it was awesome! We got a few pictures which I will post sometime. The boat raced down the coast, about 40 mph. We went just over the Delaware line and turned around. The captain was alot of fun as well as the young girl that was on board. They entertained us with jokes, information and played some great summertime music.

If you head to Ocean City....you gotta check out this boat ride!

gadget geeks?

I never really thought that I used electronic gadgets alot...but I guess I was wrong. We actually depend on them and use them alot. Is that good or bad? I don't know.

On a family vacation, just in the car, we have:

~~a digital camera- that holds 3606 pictures! (we were hoping it held 200 or so)

~~this laptop I am playing on (and getting motion sick) with mobile broadband

~~a tom tom telling us to "stay on the moto-way", totally unnecessary, but fun anyways

~~an IPOD, so we can load a bunch of new songs, actually 2 IPOD's, or MP3 players...whatever

~~2 verizon cell phones

~~Lacey watching Milo and Otis on the portable DVD player

WHEW! And now I gotta go because the battery is going dead and there is too many cords to mess with!
