birthdays galore

Since Lacey has started pre-school, we have entered the birthday party zone. Lots of kids, endless birthday parties! So, we went to a pool party last night for a sweet little 4 year old girl. Lacey was SO excited to go see the kids from her school, she could hardly wait. We both had a good time and she's waiting for the next invitation :) As we pull into the driveway, I hear this sweet soft voice from the back seat say, "thank you for taking me to the party mommy!" She is my little sweetheart.

We stopped at McDonald's on the way home for a late dinner and I received alot more than the chicken wraps I ordered! I've enjoyed 24 hours of food poisoning, virus, or something. I think it was bad chicken. Or maybe there will be another vegetable recall and the lettuce was bad this time. Who knows, but fortunately Lacey is fine. So we've spent most of the day on the couch cuddling, sleeping, playing and watching movies. Beware of McDonalds's!

A lazy summer day just blowing bubbles.

We started out making sand castles but Lacey thought it was fun to immediately knock them over so we began digging......and digging......and digging! I should say the men were digging and I just layed in the sun and laughed. It started out as 2 separate holes but then they decided to connect them and make the girls their own little private swimming pool by the ocean! It really was a huge hole and brought alot of laughs that day!

This was one of three beautiful sand sculptures by the boardwalk. There is also a display of free Bibles here and sometimes there might be a small group of people singing a song. One evening we saw a man sharing the gospel in this area to anyone that wanted to stop for a minute and listen. The lights make it even more beautiful after dark.

My life!

sweet little eyes

Once you have a child, you see everything through the eyes of that little child. The world appears much different than before. You notice the little things in life, especially nature and God's beautiful creation. Who knew that a caterpillar, hermit crab (our new pet), a rabbit or a frog could be so much fun to watch?

I was driving home with a friend the other night (she has no kids) and she mentioned how bright it seemed that late in the evening. I mentioned the moon was really bright the night before, almost a full moon. She just shrugged and said "I never noticed." I just giggled as I thought about my nightly ritual with Lacey. When I get home from work I scoop her up and we go out on the front porch in the darkness. She's always amazed to see the moon and the stars. Each night she is fascinated like she has never seen it before. We share this sweet moment and she tells me the highlights about her day. The moon tonight was a cool orange color and tomorrow I'm sure we will check out the full moon as it appears.

I know that one day she won't be interested in these things, so for now, I'm just enjoying the view, through my child's eyes.

beach bums

We're back! We had a great trip to the beach! The fireworks were awesome over the ocean and we plan to see them again next year :) It's been so nice to hang out at home this weekend, just catching up with friends, sharing pictures and sleeping in my own bed! Adam is still jealous that me and Lacey slept in until 10am Friday AND Saturday.
