It was almost 6am, the sun was coming up and I was enjoying my shredded wheats, just relaxin on the couch. I decided to skip Fox and Friends this morning and catch up on some local news. There was a few major headlines involving a fatal car crash and a possible homicide. And then..... I listened carefully and couldn't believe my ears. This local man decided it would be fun to break into a house in the middle of the night. Doesn't a thief normally steal like electronics, jewelry or money? This wacko broke into the house and waltzed into the kitchen. He pulled out some raw hot dogs and found a chair at the kitchen table. He enjoyed the raw meat until the home owner awoke and found him in the kitchen...just hangin' out and eating the hot dogs. When the police arrived, the home owner had the burglar down on the kitchen floor with a gun to his head!!
So, he's now charged with Felony Burglary and bail was set at $5000.00
What a moron!! I hope the hot dogs were super good!
After the dumb criminal story I decided to channel surf and found Becker!! Have you seen that show? Who knew it came on at 6am?! Forget the news....I can catch up on that on the way to work and at my desk. Now, I can laugh at Becker as I enjoy my breakfast and start the day!

Sweet Suite!
BEAUTIFUL HOTEL
There is a town a couple hours from home that we love to visit, maybe 1 or 2 times a year, usually in the spring and around Christmas. Embassy Suites is a treat in itself! If you never stayed there, you should try it sometime. The room is so nice...actually its 2 separate rooms, king size bed, refrig and microwave, table, etc. Each evening is a free managers reception with nice appetizers and drinks. The interior of the hotel is atrium stlye- open in the middle. They have a wonderful made to order breakfast each morning, that is complimentary with your room. The nice cook will make any kind of omelet you want, pancakes, waffles, meats.....
The hotel is always host to some kind of event and this particular weekend was no exception. The day we arrived we were surrounded by Vietnam Veterans and their family, attending some kind of weekend conference. And then the next night, the hotel played host to a charity event called Dancing with the Stars. We didn't have tickets of course, so we could only see a little of the "stars".
We always hit the big mall and do a little shopping. We saw the wrestler Ric Flair at the mall signing autographs and we got some photos. He's lookin' pretty rough now. Me and Lacey enjoyed our first visit to Chuck E Cheese and we had a ball :) We played with the robot on stage and then she was surprised to see the "real" mouse come walking over to us! We were there for like 4 hours and had a good time. We also checked out the Clay Center on this trip. We experienced all of the science galleries and other exhibits. Really lots to do for kids!

the holiday
Please tell me that Easter came out of the blue this year- a complete surprise on the calendar right? Surely it hasn't been on the calendar for months, or at least a few weeks to prepare? Approximately 2 days ago, like on Good Friday, the mad rush began. I went shopping after work to get things for our kids at church and to find a pretty new dress for me that would be just perfect! Funny huh? It wasn't so funny as I shopped for about 4 hours and came home exhausted and sick. I could have been home with my family. Yesterday I got the crafts ready for Sunday school and set things up at church. Lacey helped hide the Easter eggs and we were good to go! About 7pm last night I realized her new little dress was still in her hamper, tags and all, waiting to be washed. I found some clothes in my closet that were sorta spring-like and made her Easter basket after she fell asleep. I got the eggs ready for her and Justin to have an egg hunt and decided to call it a night. Sometime last evening I tried to figure out where all the family was meeting for dinner, the time, etc. We still got that all messed up but it was fine.
I used to think I was a real organized person and sorta proud as I marked off my little check lists and carefully planned for events or holidays, at least a few weeks ahead of time. I don't know what happened to this skill but it went out the window recently, at least for this holiday, or maybe the past 2 or 3. Birthdays, anniversaries, etc..... may be remembered, maybe not. So disappointed in myself! Sometimes, I just throw my hands in the air and say "I give up- I can't remember everything!"
I did help Adam to fix his tie, with a few hours to spare this morning. And.. I managed to paint my toe nails about 30 minutes before leaving the house. Organized Chaos... that sounds good. Maybe I'll just blame it on my sinus infection and ear infection.
However, we did have a nice holiday- planned or unplanned! And my little 4 year old understands the true meaning of Easter. That is really all that matters.

spoiled milk
If you have kids, especially little ones, you may find this funny...
Early this morning, I quietly made a bowl of oatmeal in the dim kitchen light. I opened the microwave door and guess what I found? It took me by surprise to find a heavy, half gallon carton of milk laying inside. I giggled and remembered how Lacey was "cooking" her milk the night before. Obviously, she forgot to put the milk back in the fridge. It was the "good" milk as Lacey and Daddy says. Some kind of milk in a carton with a cow on the front...I don't know. So I poured it all down the sink and giggled a little more as I thought about my silly little girl.
A few hours later I was at work and talking to Adam on the phone. As we were talking he was making breakfast and opened the microwave. (I hadn't told him about my finding this morning) And guess what he found? Yet another heavy, half gallon carton of the good milk laying inside- again! He yelled at her and put the cold milk back in the fridge. I thought it was funny- again. You just never know where you may find things in your house. Lacey loves to take things, hide them, and they are never seen again. And as much as I'd like some bills disappear...we are trying to teach her that it's not funny to hide stuff from us.
If that didn't make you laugh...maybe this will. Today a complete stranger called me, and I quote, "AN ARROGANT LITTLE TYRANT!" As this 50 year old childish man yelled at me, I wasn't quite sure how insulted I should be. I really wanted to tell him that my arrogant job paid quite nicely and I appreciated his support! But since I need a steady paycheck, I just listened to him spout off and repeatedly call me this name and hang up. I immediately grabbed my dictionary and looked up the word tyrant. I guess I'm viewed as some kind of ruler in this great nation. I love the power! What an idiot!
