Dad vs Mom

Lacey really has the best of both worlds.....

During the week she has a fun, protective Daddy all to her self for at least 12 hours a day. She gets to go fishing, play computer hunting games, ride the 4 wheeler, hang out with guy friends, eat chocolate ice cream, use tools, ride in the truck and lots of other fun things with Daddy.

On the weekends, she's all girly girl with Mommy! We paint our nails, do our hair and make-up, go to gymnastics, bake cookies, go shopping, tell secrets, make crafts and other girly things.

Will she be a tom-boy or a little princess? She begs for a Bob-the-Builder umbrella and then begs to buy pretty panties like Mommy! Daddy teaches her to burp, and I teach her manners! She loves to jump in mud puddles but then gets upset when her white shoes are dirty! She talks about shooting a bow while proudly twirling in a new dress! The examples could go on and on......

So, last weekend I took Lacey to see the movie Horton hears a Who. She loved the popcorn and giggling with her little friend Lexi. The big purple elephant was super funny! As an adult, I thought it was pretty cool to listen to the talented Jim Carey and Carol Burnett and their many voices. How do they do it? The big scary bird chased Horton and Lacey clung to Mommy just a little bit tighter. She breathed a sigh of relief when Horton and the Who village were safe!

It was a cute movie and a fun afternoon with friends but I'd save my money to buy Alvin and the Chipmunks! Just our opinion.

Things change so much, it can be overwhelming and seem hopeless. But we know that God is in control and He will always guide us and give us wisdom. We don't have to live in fear or discouragement when we know WHO holds the future for us! We can live with great expectation and joy, anxious to meet the new challenges and events to come in our life.

Usually I play on this blog at the end of the day while checking email or writing an email. I will write about whatever is on my little brain at the moment. Tonight I am thinking about how much I love my husband! That's not unusual but today was just filled with little moments that make me so grateful for my family. Lacey just adores her daddy, like me. How many men would listen to Hannah Montana blaring on the CD player to AND from church today? Does every Daddy enjoy a bubble bath with his baby girl once in awhile? And play duck, duck, goose over and over again before bed? And right now, as I write this, he is holding her as she falls asleep. Lacey is lucky to have so many great men in her life that will always be special to her but Daddy will always be #1.

We are so blessed :)

As I head out the door this morning to go to work, I tell my little girl Goodbye and to have a fun day.

She then asks me: "you got panties on?"

As I head out the door this morning to work, I tell my sweet baby girl Goodbye and that I will call her later.

This precious little 3 year old then says, "MOM.....that don't match!"

WHAT??!!??

When did she become the fashion police? And who made her this way?
This is the same little girl that looks at her tiny butt in the mirror sometimes.

Lacey smiled as she told me that someone was calling on her cell phone. She quickly opened it and said "Hi" in her sweet little voice. Then she said, "Yeah........No.........Okay" and snapped her phone shut in disgust. She normally has her 2-3 favorite guys that call on a regular basis so I asked which one was calling her?

She shook her little head and angrily said "IT WAS JUST A TELLMARKTR!"
