purses galore!

I really hate to shop for shoes. I only have the basics and really don't care otherwise. Some women have a million shoes but I collect purses instead! The above picture is my newest purse... no wait..... I bought one at Gabe's today, I forgot. It is bright white with big silver buckles and yellow inside. Really cute and a good deal at $3.50. Anyways, the bag above is my one and only Vera Bradley! I love the little pleats and the fabric. It is special and has a story behind it. I bought it in Berlin MD which is "Hale MD" in the movie Runaway Bride. The store is a great little shop called Victorian Charm. It was the wedding shop in the movie where Julia Roberts shopped for her wedding gown with Richard Gere. Remember that? I'll share those pictures sometime. I got a little wallet to match the scarlet fabric. I carried this purse for like 3 weeks straight, which might be a record. Complete strangers ask about this little bag, everyone loves it!
My closet is a mess because I don't have much storage space. The purses (and wallets) are stacked all over. It's just too tempting when they sell those darn wallets that match the purse! They might not match anything else, but they match that one particular bag. I've found great purses at shoe stores and Goody's! I have a couple Aigner purses that were gifts from my hubby. I've bought a few at our store at work. Oh yeah, and Longaberger! I love all those little tote bags. I have a "few" of those too. And they even make special little holiday bags, like fall and Christmas. I won't buy the baskets but the tote bags are great.
Adam is fortunate that I don't have many shoes, but I have purses!

summer fun

It's Friday!

Well, it's been a crazy, sorta strange, week. So much going on each day. My work week ended last night when I attended a Catholic funeral (for the first time). But it's my weekend now :) Today we played outside most of the day. Lacey and Justin rode their 4 wheeler and big wheel out the road and back several times. And when Lacey decides not to pedal, she wears me out! I got lots of exercise today! We got the water hose out and played awhile. We washed my car real good and got each other all wet. Of course that's half the fun. We got alot of strawberries and tomatoes from our garden this evening. Our big tomatoes are finally turning red. And we have a million cherry tomatoes now. As soon as we pick them, rinse off and then Lacey eats them. Some actually make it to the refrigerator for later.

I was taking a shower tonight and I heard Lacey laying on the couch "reading" her books to her babies. It became real quiet and when I came out of the bathroom, I found her laying on the couch holding her books, sound asleep! No bath, no brusing teeth, no potty, no pajamas, not a care in the world, only that she was tired and ready for bed.

He is Faithful

I have alot of time to think on my long drive to and from work. Tonight I kept thinking about different things that have happened over the past few years. And one thing kept coming to mind- God has been so faithful to me, through good times and the bad times. Almost 4 yrs ago we began the adoption process. In a few short years, 3 divorces have greatly affected us. Broken relationships. New, close friendships. We have been put into situations we never imagined we would experience. I could go on and on. God has given us patience, peace and mercy to forgive others. He has been faithful to care for us and to do things beyond our imagination! Only God can sustain us during the hard times. Only God can give us undescribable peace and joy. With many more changes to come in the next year, (known and unknown) we know our God will be faithful to guide us and care for us.

A close friend once told me, "I may lose everything, but I'll never lose my faith." That says it all.

lost and now found!

Darby has been safely returned! She was found amongst a pile of rubble in a red Nissan truck. She lay strung on the floor board with some left over french fries, old newspapers and garbage. She was a little mangled and dirty but generally okay.

I guess she's not as valuable as I thought. Lacey asked me yesterday, and I quote, "hey mom, do you wanna see how fast I can rip off Darby's head?"

I'm guessing that Daddy taught her a new trick this week!

PLEASE HELP.....

DARBY (aka: Barbie) is missing! Have you seen her? Lacey's one and only Darbie has vanished. She is about 12 inches tall with long blond hair. She has a single braid in her hair and was last seen wearing a pink bathing suit and pink earrings. She has a perfect fake figure and pink nail polish. She has traveled alot recently and her location is highly unpredictable at this time.

Please return Darby unharmed. One sad little girl is offering a reward for her safe return. The reward is a handful of cotton candy dum dums, some pennies and a big hug. If returned immediately, a kiss may be offered too! If you have any information leading to Darby, please call ASAP.

go for the gold

Are you ready for the Olympics? I can hardly wait to watch the opening ceremonies this Friday! I remember complaining as a child because the Olympics messed up our regular tv show schedule but now, I'm excited to watch it! Gymnastics is my favorite! I'm cheering for Shawn Johnson, a sweet little 16 yr old gymnast that is going for the gold. She is a world champion and is on the women's team for 2008. You can check out her website at shawnjohnson.net. As a baby, she skipped crawling and started walking at 9 months. Her mom enrolled her in gymnastics at age 3 to burn off alot of energy! Mom always knows best huh?

13 years later, she is a world champion and will be watched by millions again soon!

Get ready, the Olympics are here once again!
