As adults, we mispronounce words all the time. Why correct kids constantly? Especially when it is so cute! My last supervisor used the word "typically" like at least 5 times a day, in meetings, giving direction or just in conversation. But, it always came out as "typTically". I really liked this boss and thought it was funny each time. The "T" right in the middle was very pronounced and usually set off a spray of showers to anyone that was nearby. We quickly learned when to keep our distance! Fellow employees would correct him over and over but he continued with this habit. And probably still does!
Well, Lacey has a few words that are just too cute to correct right now. She talks about the boy next door as our "neighbra" and her friend that comes over to play as our "neighbra". The other cute expression is about her friend named Cierra, which Lacey so sweetly calls "Sarah". Sarah has graciously accepted this new name and smiles at her little friend.
Yesterday evening after work Lacey was telling me about her day at Sarah's house. At some point the girls lovingly put the kitty cat in the bathroom cabinet for unknown reasons. I'm guessing and hoping the adults didn't see it. A little while later they went back to help (torment) the poor cat again and it had vanished. I imagine it had found a good hiding spot from the ornery girls. They searched everywhere but could not find the kitty. Lacey was disappointed and acted sad as she told me the story.
She explained that her and Sarah even went to the neighbra's house to look for the cat.
I just smiled at her sweet innocence and ornery little spirit :)
