As parents, we make sacrifices almost daily for our children. Sometimes it is big things or maybe major life changes, and other times, it's just a little issue. Sometimes we must sacrifice our dignity, self respect, pride and manliness. Such is the case for my dear husband recently:
He patiently watched as our little 2 yr old girl painted his nails a beautiful pink color one afternoon. Not just a pale pink or a pastel pink, but a real bright "little girl hot pink" color! Sorta like the magic marker bright pink shade! She smiled as she made daddy look pretty. Later in the day they made a stop at the neighborhood store for some goodies. Our friend Amy bravely asked Adam about his painted nails, as she giggled at him. Fortunately, she didn't see the make-up that he had just removed before leaving the house. And his story was believed due to the fact that his little girl was with him at the time. He hung his head and quickly left the store.
My dear hubby has left an extra little bit of grease and dirt under his nails the past couple weeks to regain his manly reputation. And something about trying to kill a coyote with some chicken grease. The coyote will have to wait though, it's time for a tea party :)
